1.  Alexander Eustace,                                   85        Dublin, South              7          667

Alexander Eustace, about 85 years old, a widower and small land holder at Upper Ballinascorney, County Dublin, died of old age infirmity on June 8, 1872. Alexander Eustace was born about 1787 and married Mary Mason. Anne (her X mark) Eustace of Ballinascorney, County Dublin (probably a daughter), was present at Alexander’s death, Alexander Eustace and Mary Mason were the parents of _________________. The death was recorded 17 June 1872, Noble Seward, Registrar.

Note: Alexander Eustace of Ballinascorney, County Dublin is listed in Griffith’s Valuation.

 

2. Bridget Eustace,                                         0          Athy                            18        273

Bridget; daughter of Martin Eustace and Agnes Muldowny of Athy, County Kildare,  died as an infant in 1872; she was born 3 December 1871 at Athy.

 

3. Catherine Eustace,                         70        Dublin, South              17        544

Catharine Eustace, a 70 year old widow, (wife of labourer) died December 9, 1872 at Brideswell Road, Clondalkin. The cause of death is listed as old age, uncertified, no medical attendant present. Nicholas (his X mark) Eustace, son, of Brideswell Road, Clondalkin, was present at the death which was registered December 15, 1872; William Goodall, Registrar.

Note: Nicolas Eustace, Bachelor, age about 60 years old, occupation Labourer, died of acute bronchitis lasting 14 days (certified) on November 3, 1892 at home on Naas Road, Clondalkin, South Dublin. Catherine (her X mark) Whelan was present at the death which was registered December 5, 1892. Nicholas Eustace was born about 1833.

 

4. Ellen Eustace,                                             52        Kilrush                        4          285

Ellen Eustace, a laborer’s wife, died of nephritis on December 11, 1871 in Castlepark, Kilmihil, County Clare.  Patrick Eustace was present at her death and is believed to be her husband.

5. Essie Eustace,                                             24        Dublin, South              7          611

Essie (Esther) Eustace, spinster, no occupation, age about 24 years, died 1 May 1872 of variola hemorrhagica (small pox), five days, certified, at St. Patrick’s Duns Hospital, South Dublin No. 4, County Dublin. John Barton was present at the death which was registered March ninth 1872. H. LaBatte, Registrar.

Note: Essie (Esther) Eustace was born about 1848.

 

6. John Eustace,                                             0          Gorey                          17        620

John, son of Edward Eustace and Sarah Byrne of Gorey, County Wexford died as an infant in 1872; he was born 19 October 1872 at Gorey.

7. Margaret Eustace,                                     55        Cashel             18        321

Margaret Eustace, a 55 year old widow; occupation dealer; died at the Cashel Workhouse of liver cancer, three months duration. The death was certified on 28 November, 1872. James O’Brien, Chief Resident Officer, Cashel Workhouse was present at the death which was registered December 8, 1872 in the district of Gowran, Kilkenny Union, County Kilkenny; Michael P. Cormick, Registrar.

Note: Margaret Eustace was born about 1817.

 

8.  Mary Eustace,                                           80        Kilkenny                     18        366

Mary Eustace, an 80 year old widowed farmer’s wife, died at Gowran, County Kilkenny of old age; no medical attendant present. Ellen (her X mark) Morrissey of Gowran was present at death which was certified on 11 December, 1872 by Thomas Maher, Deputy Registrar.

Note: Mary Eustace was born about 1792.She was probably the widow of John or William Eustace who are both listed in Griffith’s Valuation.

 

9. Mary Conlon nee Eustace                      38         Kilrush

Headstone transcription – CONLON/EUSTACE  Erected by Simon and Bridget Eustace alias McNamara Gowerhass in memory of their beloved daughter Mary Conlon alias Eustace who died Aug 2 1872 age 38 years.  May her soul rest in peace. Amen.  Thomas Conlon Henry St Kilrush died 3 Mar 1931 RIP.

10. Rowland Fox Eustace,                              8          Dublin, South              17        455

Rowland, son of Thomas Fox Eustace and Anne Morrison died at 8 years of age in 1872.
