Anne Eustace, a widowed landholder, age about 76, of Greenan, Parish of Killan, died 27 April 1874 of natural causes (most probably heart disease), six hours. John Murphy, Wexford County Coroner was the informant of the death which was registered 29 April, 1874 in the Killan District, Enniscorthy Union, County Wexford.

Note: Mary Eustace was born about 1798. Edward Eustace, Killann, Greenan, County Wexford is listed in Griffith’s Valuation.

 

2. Catherine Eustace,                         0          Carlow                        13        294

Catherine, daughter of William Eustace and Catherine McCasey, died in 1874; she was born 28 Dec. 1874, at Castlemore, Fenagh Parish, Carlow.

 

3. Catherine Eustace,                         76        Gorey                          12        587

Catherine Eustace died at Ballymoney, County Wexford on 21 July 1874, age 76. She was a widow of a blacksmith.

 

4. Christopher Eustace,                      28        Dublin, North              12        406

Christopher Eustace, a smith, age about 28, unmarried, died on 18 September, 1874 at the Whitworth Hospital of pneumonia, several days duration; uncertified. The death was registered on September 22, 1874, W.D. White, Deputy Registrar, No. 3, Dublin North. Informant was Ellen (her X mark) Gorry, present at death, Whitworth Hospital.

Note: Christopher Eustace was born about 1846.

 

5. Dora Eustace,                                 70        Gorey                          12        587

Dora Eustace of Knockina, County Wexford, age about 70, widow of a blacksmith, died June 17, 1874 of infirmity, four months, no medical attendant. Catherine (her X mark) Eustace of Knockina was present at the death which was registered in the Gorey District and Union, County Wexford on July 1, 1874; G. Weldon, Registrar.

6. Elizabeth Eustace,                          85        Rathdown                   17        708

Elizabeth Eustace of 3 Connaught Place, age about 85, widow of a gentleman, died October 24, 1874 of old age, uncertified. A.J. Humphrey of 3 Connaught Place was present at the death which was registered in the Kingstown District No. 1, Rathdown Union, County Dublin on November 3, 1874; Richard O’Flaherty, Deputy Registrar.

7. James Eustice,                                1          Abbeyleix                    3          317

James Eustice of Newtown, a one year old child, son of a laborer, died March 2, 1874 of croup (ill one day), certified. Bridget (her X mark) Maher of Newtown was present at the death which was registered in the Durrow District, Abbeyleix Union, Queen’s County on March 6, 1874; George Palmer, Deputy Registrar.

8. Jane Caroline Fox Eustace,                       0          Dublin, South              17        483

Jane Caroline Fox Eustace, a female child, of Cork Street Hospital, age five months, daughter of the Registrar at Cork Street Hospital, Dublin, died November 10, 1874 of malignant scarlatina, ten days, certified. M. Stephenson was in attendance during last illness at Cork Street Hospital, was present at the death which was registered in District South City No. 1, South Dublin Union, Dublin on December 7, 1874; Thomas Purcell, Deputy Registrar.

9. John Eustace,                                 10        Celbridge                    7          354

John Eustace, a male child, age about 10 years, died on 7 June, 1874 at the Celbridge Workhouse of scarlatina (Scarlet Fever), three days duration; certified. The death was registered on June 8, 1874, George Rice, Registrar, Celbridge, County Kildare. Informant was A. Bollon, Resident Officer, Celbridge Workhouse was the informant.

Note: John Eustace was born about 1864.

 

10. Luke Eustace,                               84        Ballymahon                8          25

Luke Eustace of Gurteen (Ballymahon), County Longford died June 26, 1874, age about 84 years. Luke Eustace is listed in the Tithe Applotment Books of May 1827 as Luke Ustry and as Luke Eustace in Griffith’s Primary Valuation of 1854.
Note: Luke (sometimes Laurence) Eustace, and his wife Bridget Gibbons, were the parents of seven children baptized at St. Matthews Church, Ballymahon between October 3, 1826 and September 26, 1840. Bridget (Gibbons) Eustace, age 70 of Ballymahon died in 1865.

 

Luke Eustace; born about 1790; died in 1874, age 84 years at Ballymahon; (listed as Ustry) occupier in 1855. He was also listed in Tithe Applotment Book (1833). His wife Bridget (Gibbons) Eustace, age 70 of Ballymahon died in 1865; Notes:

      James Eustace, baptized on August 7, 1822. Sponsors were Daniel Malone and his wife.

      John Eustace, baptized March 15, 1826. Sponsors John Eustace and Bridget Geraghty. John Eustace age 83, estimated birth year 1826 died third quarter 1909 at Ballymahon.

    Michael Eustace, baptized at Shrule September 27, 1831. Sponsors were Mathew Regan & Anne Geraghty

    Anne Eustace, baptized May 8, 1833. Sponsors were Patrick Eustace and Margaret Ryan.

   Margaret Eustace, baptized December 11, 1835. Sponsors were Matthew Ryan and Mathe Cunningham.

    Philip Eustace; (son of Philip (Luke?), Eustace & Bridget Gibbon) baptized October 13, 1838. Sponsors were Michael Malone and Margaret Casey.

   Elenor Eustace, baptized September 26, 1840. Sponsors were Patrick Gerraghty and Margaret Havican.

Longford, Resident at Flatbush, Daughter of Luke Eustace & Bridget Gibbons (Baptized May 8, 1833, Ballymahon Parish) Married May 23, 1860 at Holy Cross,  2530 Church Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226, to John Lyons, born Co. Longford, Resident at Flatbush, Son of Peter Lyons & Bridget Skelly.

 

11. Mary Eustace,                                          70        Drogheda                    12        307

Mary Eustace nee Dunn, age 70, widow of plasterer, died July 4 1874 of old age, no medical attendant present. Her death was registered in West Ward, St. Peters, Drogheda on July 14 1874 by Jane Leonard who was present at death which took place on Stockwell Lane, Drogheda. Mary Dunn married James Eustace a plasterer at Drogheda. Their son Peter Eustace married Anne Downes and had fifteen children, 12 of which survived.

 

12. Patrick Eustace,                                       96        Mullingar                    8          238

Patrick Eustace, widower of Rathbennet, age about 96 years, farmer, died April 12, 1874 of old age, (uncertified), no medical attendant present. Michael (his X mark) Eustace of Rathbennet was present at the death which was registered in Multyfarnham District, Mullingar Union, County Westmeath on June 14, 1874; P. Connolly, Registrar.

Patrick Eustace, who was born about 1778 is listed in Griffith’s Valuation, and was living on Dirty Lane, at Leny, Westmeath.

Patrick, son of Patrick Eustace and Catherine Thompson, born 8 December 1873, died as an infant in 1874.

 

14. Patrick Eustace,                                       81        Balrothery                  2          343

Patrick Eustace, widower of Balbriggan, age 81, groom and coachman, died January 23, 1874 of old age and debility, certified. Margaret (her X mark) Eustace of Balbriggan was present at the death which was registered in Balbriggan District, Balrothery Union, County Dublin on January 28, 1874; Edward McGonigle, Deputy Registrar.

15. Richard Eustace,                                      25        Dublin, North              12        414

Richard Eustace; married; age about 25 years, a laborer, living at Byrne’s Lane, Dollymount, died September 21, 1874, of vascular disease of the heart from which he suffered almost four months. John Eustace of Dollymount, was present at the death which was registered in the Clontarf and Howth District No. 1, North Dublin Union, County Dublin on September 26, 1874.

16. William Eustace,                                      65        Gorey                          2          709

William Eustace; married; age about 65 years, blacksmith, living at the Gorey workhouse County Wexford, died 17 March 1874, of epitheloma of the bladder from which he suffered six months. F. J. Ryan, Chief Resident of the Gorey Workhouse was present at the death.The death was registered 31 March 1874, G. Weldon, Registrar.

William Eustace was born about 1809; he listed in Griffith’s Valuation living about 1809; listed in Griffith’s at Kiltrist, Coolatrell, County Wexford.
