Anastasia Eustace, a spinster, daughter of a farmer from Myshall, Fenagh and Myshall District, County Carlow, age about 32 years, died February 22, 1878 of epilepsy from which she was afflicted about 30 years. Margaret Eustace was present at the death was list registered in the District of Fenagh and Myshall, County Carlow on March 1, 1878.
Note: Anastasia Eustace was born about 1846.


2. Catherine Eustace,             1Q       57        Carlow                        3          393

Catherine Eustace, of the Carlow workhouse, a married woman, occupation labourer, age about 65 years, died June 23, 1878 of hepatitis, one year, certified. Elizabeth (her X mark) Donohoe was present at the death which was registered at Tullow, County Carlow on January 21, 1878.

Note: Catharine Eustace was born about 1821.

 

3. Edward Eustace,                            1Q       75        New Ross                    4          648

Edward Eustace; married; age about 75 years, farmer, Ballywilliam, Templeleudigan, County Wexford, died February 7 1878, of what was described as old age (7 days). Mary Kelly (her X mark) was present at the death which occurred at Ballygalvert. The death was registered 8 March 1878, James Rickerby, Registrar.

Note: Edward Eustace was born about 1803; he listed in Griffith’s Valuation living at St. Mary’s, New Ross, County Wexford.

4. Elizabeth Eustace,                          3Q       65        Carlow                        3          283

Elizabeth Eustace, a married woman, wife of a labourer from County Carlow, died at the Carlow Workhouse on 23 June 1878 at age about 65 years. William Darlington of the Carlow Workhouse was present at the death which was registered in the District of Carlow, County Carlow on 30 September, 1878 by C.M. Dowell, Registrar.
Note: Elizabeth Eustace was born about 1813.


5. James Eustace,                               3Q       60        Listowel                      5          313

James Eustace; (marital status unknown); a servant, age about 60 years, farmer, Ballybunion, Ballyduff District, County Kerry, died September 4, 1878, from the effects of a fall, 12 hours previously (uncertified, no medical attendant). The information was received from R.C. Harnett, Kerry County coroner. The death was registered September 18, 1878, Patrick O’Brien, Deputy Registrar.

Note: James Eustace was born about 1818.

Jane Eustace, a laborer’s widow, was born about 1788 and died of debility on March 22, 1878 in Garanatooha, Kilrush, County Clare.  Daniel McMahon, occupier, Garanatooha, was present at her death.

John Eustace, laborer, of Linkstown, County Wexford, died 5 February 1878; he was age 75, and married.

 

8. Mary Eustace,                                3Q       0          Kilrush                        4          225

Mary, daughter of Susan Eustace of Kilrush, County Clare (father not identified) was born 26 August 1878 and died of debility on September 9, 1878 in the Kilrush Workhouse.

Patrick, son of Patrick Eustace and Jane Keegan of Martinstown, County Meath was born 3 March 1878 and died soon after birth.

 

10. Patrick Eustace,                           2Q       32        Abbeyleix                    3          301

Patrick Eustace; married; a laborer, age about 32 years, (no address given), died March 29, 1878, at the Abbeyleix Workhouse, cause of death difficult to read (looks like “intress usception”), 7 days, (certified). The information was received from Edward P. McKenan, chief officer, Abbeyleix Workhouse. The death was registered May 10, 1878, Stanley Dobbs, Registrar.

Note: Patrick Eustace, son of Stephen Eustace, laborer, was born about 1846. He married Bessy Delany daughter of Denis Delany on February 14, 1870 at the Roman Catholic Chapel of Durrow, Dorreen, Queens County;

11. Sara Eustace,                                2Q       4          Waterford                   4          727

Sarah Eustace of Cheekpoint; a servant’s child, age about four years, died March 26, 1878, of croup, two days (no medical attendant). John (his X mark) Eustace, occupier, was present at the death which was registered April 5, 1878, N.S. O’Farrell, Registrar.

Note: Sarah Eustace, daughter of John Eustace, laborer, was born about 1874.

12. William Eustace,                          2Q       72        Dublin, North              2          510

William Eustace, age about 72 years, married, occupation listed as sawyer, formerly of Church Street, Dublin, died 1 June 1878 at the N.D.U. Workhouse. The cause of death was listed as a debility lasting 7 months, 25 days. Joseph Dardis was in attendance during the last illness at N.D.U. Workhouse. The death was recorded on 1 June 1878 by W.D. White, Registrar.

Note: William Eustace was born about 1806.

Comments: William Eustace was born about 1806. He married Margaret Martin about 1845. He married Harriet Martin, daughter of Pat Martin on 18 June 1855 at St. Michan’s (R.C.), Dublin. He was the father of Michael, born about 1846 and Daniel, born about 1848 by Margaret Martin; and John, born 1858; Christopher, born about 1860 and James, born about 1864 from his marriage to Harriet Martin. The family lived at 27/34 Church Street, Dublin North.  Harriet Eustace, of 34 Church Street, Dublin, widow of William Eustace married Thomas O’Connell on 1 November 1880 at St. Michan (R.C.).

William, son of John Eustace and Mary Cosgrave of Cheekpoint, County Waterford was born 16 February 1878 and died soon after birth.

 

14.  Patt Eustice,                                 4Q       55        Killadysert                  4          224

Patt Eustace, a married, a farmer from Shanakea, Labasheeda, Killadysert, County Clare, died on December 10, 1878 of phthisis in Shanakea.  John Eustace, occupier, was present at his death.  Patt Eustace was married to Mary Ronan.  Their children include: Patrick born 1864, Michael born 1856; Mary and possibly a John Eustace.
