Catherine Agnes, an infant daughter of John Eustace, a National School Teacher of Carrigbyrne, New Ross and Bridget Shannon was born 28 January 1898 and died soon after.

Catherine Eustace; a spinster, age about 48 years, a servant; died at Gorey, on March 29, 1898, probably of gastric cancer (nine months), certified. Bridget (her X mark) Murphy of Gorey, was present at the death which was registered April 1, 1898 in the District and Union of Gorey, County Wexford; J. Nolans, Registrar.

Denis Eustace, age about 65 years old, married, occupation labourer, died of bronchial pneumonia lasting 4 months and cardiac arrest on 24 March, 1898 at Terenure, County Dublin. His son Laurence (his X mark) Eustace was present at the death which was recorded 24 March 1898. Denis Eustace was born about 1833.

Eliza Eustace; a widow from Baltinglass, age about 84 years, a nurse; died at the Baltinglass Workhouse, on March 29, 1898, of chronic bronchitis (two years and 9 months), certified. Daniel Aherne, occupier of the Baltinglass Workhouse, was present at the death which was registered January 27, 1898 in the District and Union of Baltinglass, Counties of Wicklow & Kildare; J. Nolans, Registrar.

Note: Eliza Eustace was born about 1814.

5. George Eustace,                             2Q       49        Dublin, South              2          581

George Eustace, age about 49 years old, married, occupation harnessmaker, died of influenza lasting three weeks on 1 May, 1898 at his home on South Townsend Street, Dublin. His son James Eustace was present at his death which was recorded 7 May 1898. George Eustace, saddler, son of James Eustace, saddler, address 2 Eastmoreland Place, Dublin married Ellen Starkey nee Keogh on November 1, 1872 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Donnybrook, County Dublin.

Note: James Eustace, son of George Eustace and Ellen Starkey was born 4 August 1873 in Dublin.

Harriet Eustace, Spinster, age about 24 years old, occupation dressmaker, died of phthisis (Tuberculosis) lasting 3 months and exhaustion on November 19, 1898 at Byrne’s Hill, Dollymount, County Dublin. Her aunt Mary Anne (her X mark) Kidd was present at the death which was recorded 26 November 1898.

Note: Harriet Eustace, the daughter of Richard Eustace and Margaret Kidd was born 3 December 1874.

 

7. Jane Eustace,                                  2Q       55        Dublin, South              2          489

Jane Eustace, Widow, age about 55 years old, widow of a labourer, died of a malignant disease of the abdomen lasting two months on April 19, 1898 at the Harold’s Cross Hospice, South Dublin. P.N. (his X mark) Wright of the Harold’s Cross Hospice was present at the death which was recorded 20 April 1898.

Margaret Eustace; a spinster, age about 56 years, a servant; died at the Carlow Workhouse on September 13, 1898, of senile debility (one year), certified. John Howe, occupier of the Carlow Workhouse, was present at the death which was registered October 17, 1898 in the District and Union of Carlow, Counties of Carlow & Queen’s; M. Fenlon, Registrar.

Margaret Eustace; the widow of a laborer, age about 56 years; died at 58 Mulgrave Street on January 14, 1898, of bronchitis (two months), certified. Mary Eustace of 58 Mulgrave Street, Kingstown, was present at the death which was registered January 19, 1898 in the Kingstown District and Rathdown Union, County Dublin; Henry Newland; Registrar.

Patrick Eustace, age 23; Farmer’s son; Bachelor; of Togher, Rhode District; died 8 December 1898 of Phthisis (Tuberculosis) at Togher, King’s County. Patrick was born 19 February 1875 to Christopher Eustace; Shepherd of Rhode, Offaly and his wife, Mary (Catherine) Rigney.

Thomas Eustace, a laborer and bachelor, died of Phthisis on August 16, 1898 in the Kilrush Workhouse, Kilrush, County Clare.

George Eustace; an infant, age eight hours, a white wood worker’s child; died at 2 Rotunda Market on August 16, 1898, probably of convulsions, no medical attendant. Mary (her X mark) Eustace, mother, of 2 Rotunda Market, was present at the death which was registered August 16, 1898 in the District No. 2, North City, North Dublin Union, County and city of Dublin; Mike Strahan; Registrar.

An unnamed male infant was born to Peter Eustace, a labourer and his wife Mary Byrne of Rotunda Market, North Dublin on 19 September 1898 and died soon after in third quarter 1898.
