Alice Eustace, spinster, shop assistant, age 19 years, died of meningitis (fourteen days); certified on 21 June, 1904 at 3 Lismore Villas, Drumchondra. Margaret Eustace of 17 Leesons Square, Dublin was present at the death which was registered 21 June 1904 at the North Dublin District, Coolock and Drumchondra, County Dublin, Nicolas Gibbs, Registrar.

 

2. Anna Eustace,                                 4Q       3          Dublin, North              2          362

Anne Eustace, cabman’s daughter, age three years old, of 10 Lower Bridge Street, Dublin South, died of meningitis (eleven days); certified on 10 December, 1904 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dublin. Lillie Cussen of St. Joseph Hospital, Dublin was present at the death which was registered 12 December 1904 at the North Dublin Union, No. 1, North City West; J.H. McCauley, Registrar.

Note: Anne Eustace was the daughter of Christopher Eustace and Anne Farrell.

 

3. Anne Eustace,                                 2Q       60        Dublin, South              2          566

Anne Boyle Morrison Eustace, a widow, age about 60 years, a resident of 4 McMahon Street, Dublin, died 31 May 1904 from gastritis lasting three days and cardiac failure (certified). Anne’s son Cecil R. F. Eustace was present at the death which took place at 4 McMahon Street. Anne Boyle Morrison Eustace was born about 1844 and was the widow of Thomas Fox Eustace, an Army Captain. She was the mother of Gabriel Fox Eustace, a commercial clerk/auctioneer, born in Dublin on 2 December 1867; Cecil Rowland Fox Eustace, a book keeper and woolen merchant, born in Dublin on 11 March 1876; and Ethel Maude Eustace, a sewing machine salesperson, born in Dublin on December 27, 1872. All family members were Presbyterian. The death was recorded 1 June 1904.

Edward Eustace, bachelor, farmer, age 72 years of Myshall, County Carlow, died of old age, no medical attendant present on 28 August, 1904 at Myshall. Ellen (her X mark) Eustace was present at death which was registered 31 August 1904 at Fenagh & Myshall Registration District, Union of Carlow, County Carlow; W. J. Fryer, Registrar.

 

5. Jane Eustace,                                  2Q       56        Dublin, South              2          545

Jane Eustace, of 62 Upper Stephen Street, Dublin, married, age about 56 years, wife of a baker, died May 6, 1904 of cardiac disease and anasarena, certified. Magie Eustace, daughter of 62 Stephen Street, was present at the death which was registered May 6, 1904 in the District Number 2, North City, South Dublin Union, County and City of Dublin; J.J. O’Connell, Registrar.

Note: Jane Eustace nee Kelly/Kerry was born about 1845. She married Stephen Eustace, baker son of Stephen Eustace, also a baker at the Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Nicolas, Francis Street, Dublin on April 26, 1866.  They had a daughter Margaret, born in Dublin on November 24, 1870. The family was living at house number 62 Stephen Street, Royal Exchange in 1901. All family members were Roman Catholic and could read and write. Jane Kelly was the daughter of Michael Kelly, school master.

John Eustace of Cheekpoint, Waterford, died 17 August 1904, age 64, married, butler, husband of Mary.

John Eustace of Newbawn, married, age about 52 years, national school teacher, died 25 November, 1904 of consumption (12 months), no medical certificate. John Eustace, his son, of Raheenvarren, was present at the death which was recorded in the District of Carrigbyrne, New Ross Union, County Wexford on November 30, 1904; E. Keating, Registrar.
Note: John Eustace, born County Wexford, age 49, national school teacher is listed on the 1901 Irish census living at house Number 5 in Raheeavarren (Carrickbyrne), Wexford together with his wife Bridget, age 36, born Wexford and five children; Minna, 13, (Ana)Statia, 11; John, 9; Margaret M., 5 and Richard, 1; all born in Wexford. Also in the home was Mary Eustace, 17, a niece born in County Leitrim and Nicolas Browne, 19, farm servant, born in Wexford. All household members were Roman Catholic. John Eustace, farmer and national school teacher, son of John Eustace, farmer, (dead)  married Bridget Shannon, daughter of Patrick Shannon, farmer (dead) on November 26, 1886 at the Roman Catholic Chapel of Newbawn.

Margaret Eustace, a spinster, age about 73 years, occupation servant, died 4 October, 1904 at St. Joseph’s, Portland Row, Dublin of senile decay. Margaret O’Hanlon of St. Joseph’s, Portland Row was present at the death which was recorded October 8, 1904, T. Donnelly, Registrar. The 1901 census lists Margaret Eustace, as a 70 year old inmate at House # 4, Portland Row, Mt. Joy, Dublin, North.

 

9. Marianne Eustace,                         3Q       66        Tullamore                   3          406

Marianne Eustace, housekeeper, age about 66 years, widow, died February 7, 1904 at William Street, Tullamore, of a dilated heart (three years), syncope, certified. Mary F. Eustace of William Street, Tullamore, was present at the death which was registered August 9, 1904 in the District and Union of Tullamore, King’s County; George A. Moorhead, Registrar.
Note: Marianne Eustace nee Millar was born about 1838. She was the wife of William Eustace. Their daughter Mary Anne Frances Eustace, daughter of William Eustace and Mary Anne Millar was born 13 October 1864 in Kilkenny. The family moved to Tullamore
June, 1873, when William Eustace was appointed manager of the Tullamore Gas Works, a position he continued to fill until his death, when he was succeeded by his son, Frederick J. Eustace. William Eustace was born about 1810 probably in County Kilkenny; he began his career as a plumber and later became a gas works manager, first in Kilkenny and later at Tullamore, Kings County (later Offaly). He married Marianne (Marian) Miller and they were the parents of Frederick who was born 24 May 1869 at Johns Green, Kilkenny District 1, County Kilkenny. At the time of the son’s birth, William’s occupation was listed as superintendent in gas house. In William Eustace died 5 December 1895, age 85 years at Harbor Street, Tullamore.

Mary Eustace nee Murphy an 84-year-old farmer’s widow died 29 June 1904 of old age. Patrick (his X mark) Quinn was present at the death which occurred in Kilbride and was registerd 10 February 1904 by K. Reilly, Registrar. Mary Murphy, daughter of Martin Murphy and Mary Mackey of Ballinaliva, County Kilkenny, was born about 1820 in County Wicklow and married Thomas Eustace of Ballynascorney, County Dublin on 2 July 1860 at Blessington. Mary and Thomas Eustace lived at Shankill were the parents of at least eleven children; James, Alexander, Margaret, Anastatia, John, Jane, John, Mary, Ellen, Ann and Thomas.

Sarah Eustace nee _____ of Derryoughta, a 78 year old widow, housekeeper’s wife, died April 5, 1904 probably of old age, no medical attendant. John (his X mark) Eustace of Derryoughta, was present at the death which occurred in Derryoughta and was registered April 18, 1904 in the District of Monasterevan, Athy Union, County Kildare by D.J. Ryan, Registrar.

Note: Sarah Eustace nee ______ was born about 1826. She married _____ Eustace before 1867. They had a son John, born about 1868 (not married in 1901) and a daughter Bridget, born about 1873, who married Michael Carroll. The family was living at house number 20 in Derryoughter, East, Ballybracken, County Kildare in 1901.All family members were Roman Catholic and could not read nor write.

12. Stephen Eustace,                           4Q       63        Dublin, South              2          512     

Stephen Eustace, a baker, of 64 Upper Stephen Street, Dublin South, died of cirrhosis of the liver and asthenia (certified) 3 December 1904; age 63 years. Maggie (her X mark) Eustace, daughter was present at the death, which occurred at 63 Upper Stephen Street, South Dublin.

Note: Stephen Eustace, son of Stephen Eustace, baker married Jane Kelly, daughter of Michael Kelly, school master on 26 April 1866 at the Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Nicolas, Francis Street, Dublin. Stephen Eustace, age 62, baker, born city of Dublin is listed on the 1901 census living at 62 Stephen Street, Dublin with his wife Jane, age 64 and daughter Margaret, age 28, kitchen maid.

 

13. Thomas Eustace,              1Q       24        Mullingar                    3          230

Thomas Eustace, a bachelor, son of a farmer, 24 years old, of Farrow, Multyfarnham District, County Westmeath, died of pulmonary phthisis (one year) and exhaustion; certified on 21 March, 1904 at Farrow. John Eustace, brother, was present at the death which was registered 25 March 1904 at Multyfarnham District, Mullingar Union, County Westmeath; Thos. Daly, Registrar.

Note: Thomas Eustace, born 12 July 1879 was the son of Michael Eustace and Catherine Parker. He was the ninth of ten children and his birth was recorded at Mullingar on 21 July 1879.
