Honor Eustace, daughter of
Patrick Eustace and Mary Ann Galvin Eustace, was born in
Cahermurphy, Kilmihil, County Clare in 1857. She married
Michael Eustace, son of Michael Eustace and Catherine Gleeson,
in Kilmihil. However, Honor and Michael lived in Furroor,
Kilmaley, Ennis, County Clare. She died on October 9, 1909 of
phthisis and her son Patrick was the informant. Honor was
survived by her husband, Michael, and their nine children. Her
father Patrick had died eight months earlier.

John Eustace, about 83 years old, died April 16, 1909 at Gurteen
(Ballymahon), County Longford, of senility, (no medical
attendant present). Rose Eustace, of Gurteen, his daughter, was
present at the death which was registered July 5, 1909 in the
District and Union of Ballymahon, County Longford; J. Armstrong,
Registrar.
Note: John Eustace, son of Luke Eustace and Brigid Gibbon was
baptized March 15, 1826 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church,
Ballymahon. The baptismal sponsors were John Eustace and Bridget
Geraghty. He married Rose Daly in about 1850 and farmed at
Gurteen, Shrule Parish (Ballymahon), County Longford.
John Eustace (son of Luke
Eustace and Brigid Gibbon) became the occupier of No. 11 (Gurteen
Townland) in 1875 (upon the death of Luke Eustace) and continued
until 1911 when it was transferred to William Jordan who held it
in fee in 1919. The house and office were in ruins in 1928;
William Jordan acquired lots 12 and 13a in 1919 and held a total
of 21 acres, 1 rood, 14 perches (partly bog) in fee; The
property in 1919 was valued at ₤10/17s/0d; the immediate lessor
in 1854 was John Bond (and Representatives of Bond after 1896)
until 1919, when William Jordan, John Eustace’s son-in-law,
acquired the entire property in fee.

John Eustace, a 42-year-old
bachelor of Kilteel, County Kildare died 18 January 1909 of
syncope, the result of cardiac failure, certified. John Eustace
worked as a laborer. The informant was G. Cosgrove, coroner for
North Kildare. The inquest was held on 19 January 1909 and the
death was registered 23 January 1909 in the district of Rathmore,
Naas Union, County Kildare by Mary Byrne, Registrar.

died July 8, 1909, of convulsions, two hours, certified, at 16
Emerald Street, Dublin. Sarah Byrne, of 3 Sherrard Avenue, was

District No. 1, East, North Dublin Union, County and City of
Dublin; J. D. Crinion, Assistant Registrar.

Kate Eustace of Knockerry West
and a widow of a laborer died of senile decay on March 28, 1909
in the Union Hospital, Kilrush, County Clare. Kate is believed
to be the wife of John Eustace born about 1835 from Knockerry
West, Kilrush, County Clare.

Kate (Catherine) Eustace (nee
Curran), (wife of an R.I.C. constabulary), died at Drumsna, on
February 7, 1909 of pulmonary tuberculosis (12 months). Her
husband Andrew Eustace was present at the death which was
registered on May 1, 1909 in the Jamestown District,
Carrick-on-Shannon Union, County Leitrim; K. Delany, Registrar.
Note: With Kate’s death, Andrew
Eustace was left alone to raise seven small children. According
to the family, the children were set to stay with various
relatives. Andrew Eustace, age 31 years, of Ballinamuck, Granard,
County Longford, son of Patrick Eustace, farmer, married Kate
Curran, dressmaker, daughter of John Curran, farmer of
Lishtrahee on 5 September 1889 at the Roman Catholic Chapel of
Clonbroney, Ballinalee District, County Longford.

Kathleen Eustace, about three years and eight months old,
daughter of Mary Eustace, a domestic servant, died January 25,
1909, of measles, uncertified; no attendant, at Killeagh. Julia
(her X mark) Eustace, of Killeagh was present at the death which
was registered January 29, 1909 in the District of Newbridge,
Rathdrum Union, County Wicklow.

25 May 1905 at Shelton, County County Wicklow. The father is not
named on the record. Kathleen’s mother was Mary Eustace,
domestic servant. Julia Eustace (her X mark) of Shelton was
present at birth, which was registered on 23 June 1905.Mary and
Julia were the daughters of Patrick and Bridget ( ) Eustace,
originally from Carlow. See 1901 and 1911 census.

Laurence Eustace, a widowed
laborer/farm servant, of 7 Howard’s Court, Terenure, died 18
June 1909 at the Harold’s Cross Hospice, Dublin from Phithisis
(Tuberculosis) lasting 5 months and cardiac failure. He was
about 45 years old. R. Connell of Harold’s Cross Hospice was
present at his death.
Note: Laurence Eustace, son of
Denis Eustace, married Esther “Essie” Bryne/Bryan, daughter of
Michael Bryan, at the Roman Catholic Chapel of St. Joseph,
Terenure, on 2 January 1887. They were the parents of Jane, born
14 June 1888; Margaret, born 27 April, 1890; Mary, born January
16, 1895; and Bridget, born 19 March 1898.

Note: Margaret Carroll married
Michael Eustace about 1873. They were the parents of Mary, born
about 1874, Patrick, born about 1876, James, born about 1887 and
perhaps others.

James Chapel (R.C.). They were the parents of John, born

Street, William, born July 8, 1898 at 51 Fingall Street; James
Christopher, born: 4 December 1900 at 15 Findlater Place; Thomas
Leo, born 17 December, 1902, 16 Findlater Place, Patrick, born 1
November 1909. The 1911 census shows John Eustace, age 49,
harness maker, widower, living at 15 Findlater Place, Mountjoy
with sons John, age 14, messenger, William, age 12, scholar and
James, age 11, scholar. All family members were Roman Catholic.

February 7, 1909, of tuberculosis of the lungs, (12 months),
certified, at Cartron. Henry Eustace of Cartron was present at
the death which was registered March 6, 1909 in the District and
Union of Strokestown, County Roscommon.

farmer, died on February 1, 1909 at the age of 88 of senile
decay in Cahermurphy, Kilmihil, County Clare. He was married to
Mary Ann Galvin. His daughter-in-law Sarah Meade Eustace, the
wife of his son Daniel Eustace, was present at his death.
Patrick was survived by his children: Maria born 1845 married to
Michael Slattery, Australia; Thomas born 1852 living in St.
Louis, MO; John born 1853; Bridget (Greene) born 1856; Honor
(Eustace) born 1857 from Kilmaley; Daniel born 1861; Margaret
born 1864 and Richard.
