Edward Eustace; a laborer, age about 80 years old; died at Newtown on May 25, 1912, from cardiac dilation (one year); certified.  Patrick Bryan of Newtown was present at the death which was registered in the District of Durrow, Abbeyleix Union, Queen’s County on May 29, 1912; Daniel O’Brien, Registrar.

Note: Edward Eustace was born about 1832. The 1911 census shows that Edward Eustace, age about 78 years, farm servant, cannot read, Roman Catholic, was the household head at house number 1 in Newtown, Aghmacart, Queen's County. Others in the household included Elizabeth, age 75, his wife and Edward Eustace, age 35, unmarried, their son. All family members were Roman Catholic and could not read or write.

Elizabeth Eustace from 3 Eglenton Terrace, Ranelagh; a children’s nurse, age about 55 years old; unmarried; died at Clonskeigh Hospital, Dublin on April 19, 1912, from erysipelas (14 days); certified.  Delia Cunningham, resident living at Clonskeagh Hospital was present at the death which was registered in the District of Donnybrook No. 1, Dublin South Union, County Dublin on April 19, 1912; M. Walters, Registrar.

Note: Elizabeth Eustace was born about 1857. Elizabeth Eustace, age 52 years, single, occupation; nurse domestic servant, Protestant Church of Ireland, birthplace, County Carlow,  is listed on the 1911 Census of Ireland as a resident of house 9 in Zion Road, Rathmines & Rathgar West, Dublin.

 

3. Mary Eliza(beth) Eustace,             1Q       74        Dublin, North              2          381

Mary Eliza Eustace, a medical doctor’s widow, age about 74 years old, died at Elmhurst, Glasnevin (Dublin) on March 15, 1912, from a cerebral hemorrhage (two days); certified. Sarah M. McKelvey, nurse in charge of the deceased was present at the death which was registered in the District of Finglas & Glasnevin, North Dublin Union, County Dublin on March 21, 1912; D. Kerr, Assistant Registrar.

Notes: Maria Elizabeth Eustace, daughter of William Neilson, a solicitor, was born in 1836. She was the wife of John Eustace; M.D; (1827-1899) who joined his father John Eustace (1791-1867) at Hampstead Hospital in 1852.

 

4. Mary Eustace,                                1Q       80        Wexford                      4          634

Mary Eustace, a widow, wife of (Mark Eustace) a laborer, age about 80 years old, died at Brendane, County Wexford on February 18, 1912, from senile decay and cardiac failure (two months); certified. Patrick Eustace of Brendane, son of the deceased was present at the death which was registered in the District of Bannow, Wexford Union, County Wexford on March 12, 1912; M. O’Brien; Registrar.

Note: Mary Eustace nee Carroll was born about 1830. The 1911 Census of Ireland shows Mary Eustace, a widowed farmer, age 78 years as household head at house 16 in Brandane, Bannow, Wexford. Also living in the home was Mary’s son Patrick Eustace, unmarried, age about 40 years. Mary and Patrick were able to read and write and listed their religion as Roman Catholic. The 1901 census shows Mary Eustace, age 70 living with her husband Mark Eustace, age about 70 at house number 13 in Brandane, Bannow, Wexford.

 

5. Mary Anne Eustace,                                   2Q       57        Dublin, South              2          478

Mary Anne Eustace, a spinster of 19 Belgrave Road, age about 57 years old, died at Harold’s Cross Hospice on May 25, 1912, from mitral disease and heart failure (three years); certified. W. Maloney of the Harold’s Cross Hospice was present at the death which was registered in the District of Ratmines, Union of Dublin South, County Dublin on May 30, 1912; Rich. Thos. Hearn; Registrar.

6. Michael Eustace,                            3Q       91        Naas                            2          537

Michael Eustace of Kilbride, County Wicklow died during 1912 at about 91 years of age at Ballyfolan, Kilbride Parish. He was the son of Patrick Eustace of Ballyfolan and born about 1821 in County Wicklow. Michael married (1) Mary, daughter of John Hamilton, a farmer, on 8 October 1874 at Kilbride (R.C.).  The family lived at Ballyfolan, Manor Kilbride Parish. The 1901 census lists Michael Eustace, age 75; Margaret his wife, age 50 and the following unmarried children: Mary, age 27 (baptized 18 January 1877 at Blessington); Patrick, age 25 (baptized 5 June 1878 at Blessington); and James, age 14 (born and baptized 20 December 1887 at Blessington).  Michael and Mary were also the parents of Margaret, born and baptized 8 January 1880 at Blessington; Anne, born and baptized 8 June 1881 at Blessington; and Julia, born and baptized 22 February 1884 at Blessington and died in 1884. Mary Eustace nee Hamilton died during 1884 at about 42 years of age and Michael married (2) Margaret, daughter of James Carroll, a farmer on 7 June 1885, at Roman Catholic chapel of Lackan.  Margaret Carroll was 25 years younger than Michael. Margaret and Michael were the parents of James, born and baptized 21 (need month) 1887 at Blessington. Margaret Eustace nee Carroll died at Ballyfolan in 1909 at about 50 years of age. In 1911, Michael is listed as a widower, age 95, unable to read and write, living with three unmarried children: Patrick, age 31; Annie, age 26, and James, 22.

 

7. Roland Eustace,                              1Q       50        Dublin, South              2          631

Roland Eustace, age about 50 of 32 Common Street, Dublin, died 31 December 1911 of Carcinoma of six months duration. The 1911 census shows that he was a 55 year old grain clerk living on Common Street, North Dock, but the death record states he was a sailor, which he may have been before he became a grain clerk. The death occurred at Sir Patrick Duns Hospital with Joseph Delaney, Inmate present. The 1911 census shows that Roland was a Roman Catholic, his wife Ellen belonged to the Church of Ireland.

Note: Roland Eustace was the son of Christopher Thomas Eustace, clerk. He was married in 1889.
