G-3. Evelyn Mary Eustice4 (WILLIAM 3, JOHN 2, JAMES 1) Evelyn Mary Eustice was born October 21, 1900 at Janesville, Waseca County, MN. She married George Benda, son of Frank Benda and Catherine Hyeck on August 20, 1918 at Iona Lake, Jackson County, MN. Evelyn Mary Eustice died October 30, 1984 at the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson, MN of heart failure and was buried November 2, 1984 in Good Shepard Cemetery, Jackson. George Benda died on Sept. 23, 1963. Evelyn Mary Eustice was born to William and Mary (Wheelock) Eustice on Oct. 21 1900 in Janesville, MN. She went to school in Petersburg Township and Jackson. She was married On Aug. 20, 1918 in Iona, Jackson County, MN to George D. Benda.. After their marriage, they lived in Wisconsin township, moving to Jackson in 1962. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of The Good Shepherd. She was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Altar Society. Evelyn Mary Eustice Benda died Oct. 30, 1984 at the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson, MN at the age of 84, Funeral services were held on Nov. 2 at the Church of the Good Shepherd and interment was at Good Shepherd Cemetery. Father Urban Neudecker officiated. Organist was Mary Beth Handevidt and vocalists were grandchildren Laura Waters and Jim Volmar. Casket bearers were grand chiidren Joe Berg, Mark Waters, John Vollmar, George Benda III, Jim Waters, Bill Vollmar, Peter Vollmar and Marty Gantenbein. Ushers were grandchildren Tim Berg, Warren Vollmar, Jr., John Waters, Jr. and Raymond Gantenbein. Lectors were grandchildren Jeanne Benda and Katy Bohnsack. Tribute was by grandchild Mazy Vollmar Bailey. Petitions were by grand children Meg Benda, Mary Pat Gantenbein, Jill Waters, Ellen Voll< mar and Barbara Stange. Servers’ were grandchild Matt Benda, and Packey Haberman and Sean Lutterman. Gift bearers were children Anne Benzell, Paula Vollmar, Ann Gantenbein, Margaret Waters, Eli Bjorkman, Molly Vollmar, Ellen Von Ohlen, Jane Gantenbein, Sally Gantenbein and Terese Waters-McCabe. Sathe & Sons, Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. She was survived by one son, George Benda Jr. of rural Alpha; and four daughters Mrs. Warren (LaVonne) Vollmar of New Prague, Mrs. Robert (Farrell) Berg of Mankato; Mrs. John (Kay) Waters of Bloomington and Mrs. Raymond (Barbara) Gantenbein of Green Bay, Wise. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, ten, great-grand children and two brothers, Joseph Eustice of Waseca and Fred Eustice of Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, John and William, who died in infancy; and four sisters, Amelda Stearns, Leone Peterson, Ann Durenberger and Ellen Holz.
