Marcella
Marie Eustace,
born 26 April, 1870 (baptized 27 April at the Church of St. Andrew) at
Multyfarnham, Westmeath. Her baptismal sponsors were Patrick Ferrall and Catherine Murray.
The family was living at the time at Farrow, a townland in Multyfarnham Parish.
Raised in Westmeath, she came to the US at the age of 25 and arrived together
with her brother John at Ellis Island, New York City on 30 May 1895 onboard the S.S.Teutonic
which left from
Queenstown (Cobh). She married Frederick Turner
McKee (Robert McKee & Catherine Kirkpatrick) on 2 August 1899 at St. Mary’s
Church in New Haven. Frederick Turner McKee was born 4 May 1875 at Woburn,
Massachusetts. They became the parents of three daughters; Catherine, also
known as Kathleen, who died 8 February 1903 of pneumonia at 31 months of age;
Marcella Marie, who married William Vincent O’Brien and Esther Frances who
married Harold Francis Carberry. Marcella Marie Eustace Frederick McKee died at
New Haven, Connecticut on 10 November 1912 of asthma. Marcella resided in
Hamden, Connecticut until her death there on 9 August 1955. She was buried at
St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven, Connecticut with her husband and first and
second daughters.
