Our Eustice family comes from Ireland.  We do not know which city they emigrated from or when.  But our guess is around 1840`s and the city of Dublin.

of Ballinascorney, County Dublin & Shankill County Wicklow

Alexander Eustace of Ballinascorney, Tallaght Parish, County Dublin was born about 1789.  He married Mary Mason, born about 1793 in Ireland, before 1815. Griffith’s Valuation (1848-64) lists Alexander Eustace living at Ballinascorney Upper, Parish of Tallaght, County Dublin;

Children of Alexander Eustace and Mary Mason:

1). Christopher Eustace; born May 1815, County Dublin; died October 04, 1895;

2). John Eustace; born July 24, 1819, County Dublin; died October 21, 1901;

3). Charles Eustace; born about 1823, County Dublin; emigrated to the USA and died about 1864 in a Confederate prison camp;

4). Edward Eustace; born about 1828, County Dublin, Ireland; died October 26, 1911, Rutland, Vermont.

5). James Eustace; born about 1828, Ireland; died about 1880 in New Hampshire.

6). Thomas Eustace, of Ballinascorney was baptized at Blessington on July 28, 1828. The baptismal sponsors were Thomas Crawly and Maria McGrath. He married Mary Murphy, daughter of Martin Murphy and Mary Mackey on July 2, 1860 at Blessington. Witnesses at the marriage ceremony were Myles Byrne and Judith Govern. Mary Murphy was born about 1838 in County Kilkenny and was a widow living at Shankill in 1911, together with sons Alex and Thomas and granddaughter Maggie McGrath;

7). Alexander Eustace, was born in County Dublin about 1837. He was a farmer at Ballinascorney, Parish of Bohernabreena. On September 21, 1865, Alexander Eustace, age 28, son of Alexander Eustace, of Ballinascorney, Tallaght District, County Dublin, married Anne Jones, age 25, daughter of Lawrence Jones, a farmer at Glasswilliam, County Dublin at the Roman Catholic chapel of Bohernabreena.

Thomas Eustace and Mary Murphy of Shankill and Ballyfolan, County Wicklow:

Thomas Eustace, son of Alexander Eustace and Mary Mason of Ballinascorney was baptized at Blessington on July 28, 1828. The baptismal sponsors were Thomas Crawly and Maria McGrath. 3). Margaret Eustace; born at Shankill; baptized 1 August 1865; sponsors Miletius Byrne and Julia McGowan;

4). Anastasia Eustace; born at Ballyfolan; baptized 22 June 1867; sponsors Michael Eustace and Margaret Eustace;

5). John Eustace; born/baptism 27 March 1869 at Shankill; sponsors Lawrence Healy and Anna Eustace;

6). Jane Eustace; born 4 May at Ballyfolan and baptized 5 May, 1871; sponsors John Balen and Mary Kelly;

7). John Eustace; born/baptism 4 May 1871; sponsors John Balen and Maria Kelly;

8). Mary Eustace; born 23 April 1872 at Ballyfolan; baptized 27 April 1872; sponsors Michael Balen and Margaret Kelly; Mary Eustace of Shankill, daughter of Thomas and Mary Eustace of Shankill, married Patrick McGrath, son of Thomas and Mary McGrath of Athdown on 28 Sept. 1890 at Blessington; Witnesses were Thomas McGrath of Athdown and Mary Eustace of Ballinascorney; They had at least two daughters, Margaret Mary (Maggie) , born 9 Aug 1891, who was living with her grandparents Thomas and Mary Eustace at Shankill in 1901 and 1911 and Anastasia born September 4, 1892;

9). Ellen Eustace; born at Ballyfolan; baptized 30 March 1874; sponsors Christopher Kelly and Brigid Kelly;

10). Ann Eustace; born 22 Sept. 1876 at Ballyfolan; baptized 22 September 1876; sponsors Philip McGowan and Mary Eustace; Anne Eustace of Shankill, daughter of
Thomas and Mary Eustace of Shankill married John Doyle of Shankill Tallaght, son of John Doyle and Elizabeth Aungier of Shankill on 6 November 1898; Witnesses were Thomas Mullally of Shankill and Ellen Eustace of Shankill;

11). Thomas Eustace; born 24 January 1880 at Shankill; baptized 24 January 1880; sponsors William Whelan and Mary Molloy; Thomas Eustace, age 29, was living with his widowed mother at Shankill in 1911;

Alexander Eustace and Anne Jones of Ballinascorney, County Dublin:

Alexander Eustace, son of Alexander Eustace, was born in County Dublin about 1837. He was a farmer at Ballinascorney, Parish of Bohernabreena which is located on the Wicklow border.  On September 21, 1865, Alexander Eustace, age 28, son of Alexander Eustace, of Ballinascorney, Tallaght District, County Dublin, married Anne Jones, age 25, daughter of Lawrence Jones, a farmer at Glasswilliam, County Dublin at the Roman Catholic chapel of Bohernabreena. Both were previously unmarried. The witnesses at the wedding were Miles Byrne and Teresa Henly. The 1901 census indicates that Alexander could not read or write (however the 1911 census indicates Alexander could read but not write) and that Anne was able to read and write. The 1911 census shows that Alexander and Anne Eustace were both alive and living in Ballinascorney.

They lived at Kiltipper, Tallaght Parish in 1901 and 1911 and had at least seven children; Mary Teresa, born in 1899, Michael, born in 1900, Anne, born 1904, James, born 1907, Thomas, born 1909 and Julia born 1910;
4). Alexander Eustace; born May 11, 1878 at Upper Ballinascorney; baptized at Bohernabreena;
5). Margaret Eustace; born September 1, 1880 at Upper Ballinascorney; baptized September 5, 1880 at Bohernabreena;
6). Anna Eustace; born September 27, 1882 at Upper Ballinascorney; baptized October 1, 1882 at Bohernabreena;
7). Teresa Eustace; born about 1885 at Upper Ballinascorney; baptized at Bohernabreena;
