Hilaire Remillard & Marie-Reine Boule Family

GENERATION VI

Hilaire⁶ Rémillard, Guillaume¹, Francois², Francois³, Joseph-Marie⁴, Francois-Hyacinthe⁵; (Francois-Hyacinthe Rémillard and Charlotte-Esther Lamoureaux); born about 1821 in Quebec; died at the age of sixty-two on 11 March 1878 at Oakland, California; he married Marie Reine Boule on 19 November 1833 at Napierville, Quebec. He was raised on a farm near Napierville and remained there until going to California in 1868 by way of New York City and the Isthmus of Panama. Traveling with his wife, six daughters, Julie, Celina, Euphemie, Judith, Malvina, a son Joseph and son-in-law, Victor Lazare Fortin, they arrived in Oakland, California on May 14, 1868; Marie-Reine Boule Remillard died in San Francisco on June 10, 1906 at age 88 years. Parents of twelve children: (Joseph Boule father of Marie-Reine died in 1889 at age 96).

They were the parents of the following:

1.      Philippe-Hilaire Remillard; born 18 December 1834 at St. Valentin, St. Jean County, Quebec; he died 26 March 1902, Alameda County, California; married 1866 at San Francisco to Eveline Levoy.

2.      Pierre-Nicolas Remillard; born April 1837; married Cordule Laurin in 18xx at San Francisco. He died 4 August 1904 at Oakland, California (San Francisco Chronicle August 7, 1904-25-1)

3.      Edward Remillard; Born 1 February 1840 at St. Valentin of Napierville, Quebec, Died at Oakland, California 1893; March 10/11, 1903; married Virginia Remillard (Narcisse and Rosalie Monjon).

4.      Julie Remillard, born 1843; she married June 12, 1865 at St. Valentin de Napierville to Victor Lazare (Eliazar) Fortin. He was the son of Vital Fortin and Christine Pare of St. Cyprien de Napierville.

6.      Celina Remillard; married Theophile Lamoureux, a stockholder and director of the Remillard Brick Company of Oakland;

7.      Euphemie Remillard; married David Giroux, a hotel-keeper of Winnemucca, Nevada; Hermine, his first wife, deceased seven years after marriage. Euphemie Remillard Giroux died June 7, 1932 in San Francisco.

8.      Judith Remillard; married Philip L. Lamoureux who served as secretary of the Remillard Brick Company; She died in Oakland on March 20, 1932;

9.      Malvina Remillard; married James A. Hill, a carpenter and builder of Winnemucca; she died November 9, 1932 at San Francisco.

10.  Joseph Remillard, unmarried, foreman of the teaming department of the company;

11.  Francois “Frank” Remillard; arrived California 1869 with family; drowned on trip to Oregon in 1880s.
